Product Information
- N,N-Bis(2-chloroethyl)carbamic acid tert-butyl ester
- Tert-Butyl Bis(2-Chloroethyl)Carbamate
Bis(2-chloroethyl)amine is an anticancer drug that acts as a DNA alkylating agent. It induces apoptosis in human liver cancer cells. The mechanism of action involves the nucleophilic attack by the amine on the carcinogen, forming a covalent bond with the DNA and resulting in the formation of oxindole and chloride ions. Bis(2-chloroethyl)amine has been shown to be effective against resistant mutants and is used for the treatment of tuberculosis. However, it does not inhibit Mycobacterium tuberculosis growth at concentrations below 100 μg/ml.
