2-BROMOIMIDAZO[1,2-A]PYRIDINE is a switchable molecule that can be used in the cross-coupling reaction. It is a nucleophilic reagent that can be used for formylation, chlorination, and other reactions. The 2-bromoimidazo[1,2-a]pyridine molecule has been shown to react with anilines in a cross-coupling reaction to produce various products. This process is mechanistic and involves the use of ammonium salts as catalysts. A nitro group was introduced at one end of the molecule to enable asymmetric synthesis. 2-BROMOIMIDAZO[1,2-A]PYRIDINE has also been used as a biomolecular probe and a lead structure for drug discovery.
