Product Information
- 4-Bromophenyl isocyanide
- Benzene, 1-bromo-4-isocyano-
1-Bromo-4-isocyanobenzene is an isocyanide with unusual structural features. It has been shown to be a competitive antagonist of the muscarinic acetylcholine receptor, and has been used as a starting material in the synthesis of some atypical antipsychotics. 1-Bromo-4-isocyanobenzene incorporates into biologically active molecules, such as imidazoles and betaines. This incorporation can be accomplished by using modular syntheses that use 1-bromo-4-isocyanobenzene as a building block.
