Description

2-Bromo-5-phenylthiophene is a halogen with the chemical formula of C6H3BrS. It has a melting point of -29°C and a boiling point of 277°C. 2-Bromo-5-phenylthiophene is soluble in diethyl ether and chloroform and reacts with magnesium to produce Grignard reagents. It can be used as a light emitting compound for organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs). 2-Bromo-5-phenylthiophene can also be used as an efficient reagent for converting alkenes to alkanes. The colorless liquid has an odor that ranges from sweet to aromatic, similar to benzene.
