Product Information
- Benzoylcholine bromide
- 2-(benzoyloxy)-N,N,N-trimethylethanaminium bromide
Benzoylcholine bromide is an antimicrobial agent that belongs to the group of pyridinium salts. It is a benzoyl derivative of choline that inhibits bacterial growth by binding to metal ions, such as chloride and calcium, which are required for the permeation of cell walls. Benzoylcholine bromide has been shown to be effective against gram-positive bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus and Enterococcus faecalis and also some gram-negative bacteria such as Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The drug can be used in lithography processes because it does not produce any harmful byproducts during the process.
