Product Information
- Arsine, bis(trifluoromethyl)-
- Bis(trifluoromethyl)arsine
Bis(trifluoromethyl)arsane is a labile, reactive, fluoroalkyl compound. It is used in biochemical research and as a precursor in the synthesis of organometallic compounds. Bis(trifluoromethyl)arsane reacts with hydrogen chloride to form trifluoroacetic acid, ammonia and hydrogen gas. This compound has been shown to be toxic to women and can cause an increase in blood pressure. Bis(trifluoromethyl)arsane also reacts with silicon and water to form a volatile silicon monoxide gas. This compound has been found to be useful in the analysis of nitrogen-containing compounds by ammonolysis reactions.
