Description:
1-Bromo-2-Fluoro-2-Methylpropane is a fluorinated organic compound that has been shown to be an effective alkylation agent. It is used in the synthesis of amino acids and other organic compounds. 1-Bromo-2-Fluoro-2-Methylpropane reacts with azide to give a highly reactive intermediate, which can undergo hydrogenation to yield methylenecyclopentane or anti-markovnikov addition with methylenecyclopropane. The latter reaction is the basis for its use as an alkylation agent.
