Product Information
- Bis(dimethylamino)fluorophosphine
- Phosphorodiamidous fluoride, tetramethyl-
Bis(dimethylamino)fluorophosphine is a chemical substance that is used as a pesticide. It is the active ingredient in some insecticides, herbicides, and fungicides. This substance reversibly inhibits the enzyme acetylcholinesterase (AChE). The inhibition of AChE leads to increased levels of acetylcholine at synapses and nerve endings, which results in paralysis and death. Bis(dimethylamino)fluorophosphine also inhibits viral replication by binding to the virus's RNA polymerase. The affinity of this substance for RNA polymerase is higher than for AChE, so it binds preferentially to the viral polymerase and prevents it from synthesizing more virus particles. This compound does not bind to plant ligands.
