Product Information

Name:
2,4-Bis(Trifluoromethyl)Benzamide
Description:

2,4-Bis(Trifluoromethyl)Benzamide is a drug that is used as an analog to 2-nitroimidazole. It has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of mammalian cell growth and the polymerization of tubulin. The compound has been shown to be efficient against trypanosomiasis in mice and is active against coccidia. 2,4-Bis(Trifluoromethyl)Benzamide has been found to depress the nervous system in mice and may have some activity against kidney cells. This drug shows no toxic effects on mouse macrophages or kidney cells; however, it does show some toxicity on mouse macrophages and kidney cells at higher doses. Optimizing this drug for use as a coccidiostat may improve its efficacy.
