1-(3-Bromopropoxy)-4-Fluorobenzene is a nucleophilic compound that has been used in the synthesis of benzophenones and substituted benzophenones. It reacts with benzoic acid to form a trifluoromethylbenzoate ester and with peracetic acid to form 1-(3-bromopropoxy)-4-fluoro-1,2,5,6-tetrafluorobenzene. The hydrolysis of this compound yields 1-(3-bromopropoxy)-4-fluoroanisole. Nitro groups can be added by treatment with hydrogen peroxide in the presence of nitric acid. The fluorination of this compound is achieved by treatment with an alkylhalide and sodium fluoride.
