Product Information
- 3-Bromo-3′,5′-difluorobenzophenone
- Methanone, (3-bromophenyl)(3,5-difluorophenyl)-
3-Bromo-3',5'-difluorobenzophenone is an organic compound which is a reversible covalent binder of collagenase enzyme. It is a potent inhibitor of collagenase, with an IC50 value of 1.1 μM in the case of rat liver collagenase and 0.7 μM in the case of human skin collagenase. This drug may have potential use as an anti-cancer agent, as it prevents cancer cells from synthesizing proteins necessary for their survival and proliferation. 3-Bromo-3',5'-difluorobenzophenone also has anti-inflammatory properties, which may be due to its ability to inhibit proteolysis by inhibiting the enzyme that breaks down proteins in joints or muscles, such as cathepsin K (CTSK). This compound also has a molecular weight of 264.2 g/mol and an acidic pKa value of 5.6.
