Description

3,5-Bis(trifluoromethyl)iodobenzene is an aryl halide which is used in organic chemistry as a synthetic intermediate. It reacts with ethyl esters to form ethyl 3,5-bis(trifluoromethyl)benzoate. This compound has been shown to be effective in the treatment of infections caused by siderophores and long-term treatment of functional groups. The reaction vessel for this synthesis contains fluorine gas and oxone, which are rapidly converted to hydrofluoric acid and ozone respectively.
