Product Information
- Ethanone, 1-(3-bromophenyl)-2,2,2-trifluoro-
- 3'-Bromo-2,2,2-trifluoroacetophenone
3'-Bromo-2,2,2-Trifluoroacetophenone is a molecule that binds to the protein PTP1B and inhibits its activity. It is used in research as a model for studying PTP1B inhibitory activity. 3'-Bromo-2,2,2-Trifluoroacetophenone has been shown to inhibit the Friedel-Crafts reaction by covalent adduct formation. This inhibition was found to be reversible with trifluoroacetic acid. 3'-Bromo-2,2,2-Trifluoroacetophenone also has monoclonal antibodies against it which are used in research and diagnostic applications. These antibodies can bind to the hydrogen bonds of the molecule and cause steric interactions at high concentrations of 3'-bromo-2,2,2-trifluoroacetophenone.
