4-Bromo-8-(Trifluoromethyl)Quinoline is a potent compound that is an agonist of the ATP-sensitive potassium channels. It binds to the ABCA1 protein, which is involved in cholesterol transport. 4-Bromo-8-(Trifluoromethyl)Quinoline has been shown to produce functional assays in mouse cells and to have high affinity for these channels. This drug also has a potent effect on microsomal enzymes, such as cytochrome P450s, which contribute to its ability to inhibit cholesterol synthesis.
