2,6-Bis(4-fluorobenzylidene)cyclohexanone is a selective inhibitor of Cox-1 and Cox-2. It is able to inhibit the activity of Cox-1 and Cox-2 in vitro. The mechanism by which this compound inhibits these two enzymes is not yet understood. 2,6-Bis(4-fluorobenzylidene)cyclohexanone has been shown to have a molecular docking score of -24, which suggests that it may be an effective inhibitor of Cox-1 and Cox-2. This drug has been shown to reduce inflammation in animal models of inflammatory diseases such as arthritis and colitis. It has also been shown to inhibit the expression of proinflammatory cytokines in a dose dependent manner.
