Description:
2-[3,5-Bis(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]ethanol is a phenethyl alcohol that is used as a substrate in the production of recombinant bacteria. The recombinant bacteria are genetically modified to produce proteins that are not present in their natural environment. 2-[3,5-Bis(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]ethanol is an ionic liquid with an ionic strength of 1.0 M and does not require solubilizing agents or cosolvents for protein production. It has been shown to inhibit the reaction system by inhibiting the growth of bacteria that are present in the reaction system, thereby increasing the efficiency and permeability of the cytomembrane.
