The compound bis(trifluoromethyl)arsinous acid anhydride is a synthetic chemical that has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of dopamine D3 receptors. Bis(trifluoromethyl)arsinous acid anhydride is metabolized by oxidation and hydrolysis, with only small amounts of unchanged compound excreted in urine. It has been studied as a potential treatment for Parkinson's disease and other central nervous system disorders. The compound also has the ability to cross the blood-brain barrier and is detectable in brain tissue after chronic oral administration.
