It also inhibits virus from reproducing and causing cancer. This drug has also been found to have anti-inflammatory properties that are mediated by its ability to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis. 2-Bromo-1-(2,3,4,5,6-pentafluorophenyl)ethanone is used as a solvent for fluorine compounds and other aromatic hydrocarbons in organic chemistry.
