Description

3-[3,5-Bis(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]-3-oxopropanenitrile is a diagnostic agent that can be used to detect protuberant lesions of the skin and mucous membranes. It has been shown to be effective in the diagnosis of dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans and tumor cells in biological samples. 3-[3,5-Bis(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]-3-oxopropanenitrile is also an active antiretroviral therapy that inhibits transcription polymerase chain reaction (PCR). This drug binds to DNA during DNA synthesis, blocking RNA synthesis and replication. Imatinib mesylate is a similar drug that has been shown to be effective for inflammatory bowel disease, which is characterized by chronic inflammation of the large intestine.
