Description:
The drug n-{4-[2-(bromo-4,5-difluorophenoxy)phenyl]amino}benzamide is an analog of L-asparagine. It has been shown to protect against glutamate-induced neuronal death in immunodeficient mice by preventing the uptake of glutamate into synaptic neurons. N-{4-[2-(bromo-4,5-difluorophenoxy)phenyl]amino}benzamide also inhibits acid transporters, which may be a therapeutic target for treatment of neurological disorders such as Alzheimer's Disease and Parkinson's Disease.
