Description

2-[[7-Bromo-3-(2-Fluorophenyl)-1,2-Benzoxazol-6-Yl]Oxy]Acetic Acid is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that is used to treat inflammatory bowel disease. It has been shown to reduce renal blood flow and to inhibit the growth of bacteria in the intestine. 2-[(7-Bromo-3-(2-fluorophenyl)1,2 benzoxazol-6 yl)oxy]acetic acid is an analog of indomethacin, which has a hydroxyl group at position 7 on the ring. The molecule also contains two fatty alcohols that are attached to the benzene ring. These groups make this drug more water soluble and less irritating to the stomach than other NSAIDs.
