E3CPPA is efficiently synthesized from the ketoxime precursor by lipase-catalyzed acylation and subsequent reduction. The reductive elimination of ethyl 3-(2-chlorophenyl)propanoate produces the desired product, acetoacetanilide, which has been shown to be an efficient calcimimetic. The synthesis of this chemical is catalyzed by nanocatalyst and can be carried out in a highly enantioselective manner using asymmetric conditions.
