Description:
1-Bromo-4-isobutoxybenzene (1-BIB) is an electron injection material that can be used in solar cells. The bromine atom of 1-BIB is able to inject electrons into a semiconductor, which may be useful in organic solar cells. 1-BIB has been shown to have a quantum efficiency of 0.2% and an electron mobility of 5 x 10 cm2/Vs. It has also been shown to be more efficient than methoxy and other electron injection materials, such as zinc oxide.
