5-Chloro-3-fluoro-2-(2-hydroxyethylamino)pyridine (5-ClFEP) is a bicyclic compound that is a potent inhibitor of DPPIV. It has been shown to inhibit the activity of DPPIV in vitro and in vivo, and to reduce the production of proinflammatory cytokines, such as TNFα and IL1β. 5-ClFEP has also been shown to inhibit the migration of immune cells into the brain, suggesting a potential use for this drug as an anti-inflammatory agent.
