Description:

3-Chlorobenzyl bromide (3CB) is an insoluble polymer that has been used as a growth inhibitor in the field of polymer chemistry. 3CB inhibits viral replication by binding to the dimer interface and interfering with the interaction between RNA and DNA. The high concentration of chloride ions in 3CB leads to its insolubility. 3CB has been shown to inhibit the growth of cells in culture and is an effective inhibitor for many organic solvents, such as styrene, perchlorates, and chlorides.
