Product Information
Cyanol is a polymer film that contains a growth factor. It is used as a model system to study the effect of hydrochloric acid on the kinetics of the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and to study the mechanism of DNA synthesis. The human serum, which contains proteins that inhibit PCR reactions, is replaced with a synthetic solution containing purified DNA. The polymer film is placed in contact with the synthetic solution, enabling PCR reactions to proceed at an increased rate. Cyanol has been shown to have anticancer activity in animal models and may be effective against cancer cells that are resistant to chemotherapy drugs such as cisplatin or doxorubicin. This drug also shows potential for use as an anti-inflammatory agent due to its ability to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis by blocking cyclooxygenase-2.
