Description

Chloroacetyl isocyanate (CAI) is a molecule with potent antitumor activity. It has been shown to be cytotoxic against both cancer cells and normal fibroblasts in vitro, and inhibits the growth of tumors in vivo. CAI is an analog of fumagillin, which is a natural quinoline derivative that also has potent antitumor activity. The molecular structure of CAI has been determined by molecular modeling studies and X-ray crystallography, and it was found to have similar properties to fumagillol.
