Product Information
- 5-Chloro-2,1,3-Benzoxadiazol-1-Ium-1-Olate
5-Chlorobenzofurazan is a flavonoid that has been shown to have antioxidative properties. It can be synthesized from 3,4-dihydroxybenzoic acid and 2-chlorophenol. This compound has a photophysical property of fluorescence. 5-Chlorobenzofurazan is also able to activate nucleophilic attack by acting as a nucleophile in the presence of electron-deficient substrates such as lysine residues. The bond cleavage ability of this compound is nucleophilic and activated by the presence of a base catalyst such as sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide. 5-Chlorobenzofurazan can be conjugated with ethylene to form the ethylenedioxy derivative, which has been shown to have antioxidant and antidiabetic activities.
