Description

2-Chloro-5-aminopyridine is an organic compound that has been synthesized from inorganic acids. The 2,5-dichloro group is attached to the nitrogen atom through a carbon chain. The compound's molecular formula is C4H4ClN3 and its molecular weight is 169.2 g/mol. The compound can be obtained by reacting 2-chloropyridine with nitric acid in the presence of water or alcohol. This process can also be used to produce other compounds, such as 5-nitrobenzyl chloride, 5-nitrophenol and 5-aminosalicylic acid, by substituting nitric acid with other reagents.
2-Chloro-5-aminopyridine has shown effectiveness as an analgesic when administered intraperitoneally to mice at doses of 10 mg/kg and 30 mg/kg, respectively. It has also been shown to have antiinflammatory effects when administered
