Description:

6-Chloropyrazine-2-carboxylic acid is a chemical compound that has been shown to have antimycobacterial activity against Mycobacterium avium. This drug inhibits the synthesis of proteins and DNA by binding to the ribosomal subunit, which prevents transcription and replication. 6-Chloropyrazine-2-carboxylic acid also binds to metal ions, such as chloride, which may help explain its effectiveness as an anti-tuberculosis drug.
