Product Information
- 5-chloro-3-nitropyridin-2(1H)-one
5-Chloro-2-hydroxy-3-nitropyridine is a pyridine. It is the target product of the nitrification process, which takes place in the nitrogen cycle. Nitrification is a process that converts ammonia to nitrite and nitrate, which are both usable by plants. 5-Chloro-2-hydroxy-3-nitropyridine also has been shown to be synthesized through the decomposition of 5,5'-dichloroacetophenone by means of nitrous acid.
