Synonyms:
  • 8-Cyclopentyl-3-(3-((4-(Fluorosulfonyl)Benzoyl)Oxy)Propyl)-1-Propylxanthine
  • 3-(8-cyclopentyl-2,6-dioxo-1-propyl-1,2,6,7-tetrahydro-3H-purin-3-yl)propyl 4-(fluorosulfonyl)benzoate
Description:

3-(8-Cyclopentyl-2,6-Dioxo-1-Propyl-7H-Purin-3-Yl)Propyl 4-Fluorosulfonylbenzoate (SQ2079) is a potent and selective adenosine receptor antagonist. It is a potent inhibitor of the transport of cytosolic Ca2+ into cardiac muscle cells and detrusor muscle cells. SQ2079 also inhibits the response pathway of adenosine receptors and blocks the binding of adenosine to its receptors, inhibiting its effect. In addition, SQ2079 has been shown to inhibit endogenous adenosine from binding to its receptors, which may lead to improved therapeutic efficacy in preventing or treating heart failure.
