It is also used as an access to measure membrane potential. 4-[(3,4)Dichloro-(2R)-3,3,3 -trifluoro -2 hydroxy - 2 methyl - 1 oxopropyl] amino phenyl sulfonyl chloride (4SAPC) is a membrane potential sensor and can be used in agricultural applications as an agriculturally identifiable compound. The molecule is a carbamate and works by dynamically accessing mitochondrial membrane potential. This dye can cause cell apoptosis by altering mitochondrial membrane potential.
