1-chloro-2-fluoro-4-methoxybenzene is a molecule that belongs to the class of aromatic compounds. It has an ionization energy of 72.6 kJ/mol, and its electron affinity is 18.8 kJ/mol. The molecule is a member of the benzene family and has a molecular weight of 128.1 g/mol. This compound can be synthesized from 4-chloro-3-fluoroaniline and benzene by adding sodium hydroxide to form 1,2,4,5,6,7-hexahydroquinoline with 3 equivalents of hydrochloric acid as well as 2 equivalents of methoxylamine hydrochloride in ethanol. The corresponding product is then heated at 190°C for 10 minutes to produce 1-chloro-2-fluoro-4-methoxybenzene.
