Product Information

Name:
4-Chloro-2-(trifluoromethyl)pyridine
Synonyms:
  • 4-Chloro-2-(Trifluoromethyl)Pyridine
Description:

4-Chloro-2-(trifluoromethyl)pyridine (CF3Py) is a switchable electrophile that can be modified with covalent modifiers. This compound has a high affinity for pyridinium, and can inactivate enzymes such as catalysis and residue. CF3Py has been used to label proteins and proteomes, as well as to stabilize them in order to study their structure. The covalent modification of CF3Py makes it possible to use ESI-MS/MS to detect the modified peptides or proteins.
