Product Information
- Cadmium Dichloride Hydrate
- Cadmium chloride (CdCl2), monohydrate
- Cadmium dichloride monohydrate
Cadmium chloride hydrate is a fluorescent probe that can be used to detect the presence of ethylene diamine in dry weight measurements. It has been used in animal experiments and biological products as a group P2. This compound is soluble in water, but insoluble in organic solvents. The light emission intensity of cadmium chloride hydrate is proportional to the concentration of ethylene diamine and decreases with increasing temperature. Cadmium chloride hydrate undergoes a reaction with ethylene diamine to form cadmium complexed with diamine tetraacetic acid (CdDTA). This complex emits light when exposed to visible or ultraviolet light.
