Description:

(4-Chloro-3,5-dimethylphenoxy)acetic acid is a potent antibacterial agent that is used to treat infections caused by pathogenic fungi. It is also an anthelmintic and has shown to be effective against P. aeruginosa and C. felis. (4-Chloro-3,5-dimethylphenoxy)acetic acid can be synthesized from the corresponding acid analogs by treatment with dicyclohexylcarbodiimide (DCC). This compound is often used as a starting material for the synthesis of peptide derivatives. Elemental analysis shows that this compound has methyl esters as its major components. The chemical formula for (4-chloro-3,5-dimethylphenoxy)acetic acid is C8H11ClO2O2 and molecular weight is 169.17 g/mol.
