2-Chloro-N-(5-phenyl-1,3,4-thiadiazol-2-yl)acetamide is a potent inhibitor of the signal transduction pathway. This compound has been shown to inhibit tumor growth and angiogenesis in mouse xenografts. The molecular mechanism of action of 2-chloro-N-(5-phenyl-1,3,4-thiadiazol-2-yl)acetamide involves the inhibition of pathways that lead to proliferation and cell cycle progression. This drug inhibits cell division by blocking the phosphorylation of cdc25A, which is required for activation of cyclin E/cdk2 complexes.
