N-Cyclohexylhydrazinecarbothioamide is a biochemical that belongs to the class of amides. It is a thione, which is an organic compound with a sulfur atom in the place of one or more hydrogens. The molecule has been shown to have anticancer activity and acts by inhibiting DNA synthesis, leading to cancer cell death. N-Cyclohexylhydrazinecarbothioamide also inhibits the biosynthesis of nucleic acids by binding to their enzyme's active site, thereby preventing hydrogen bonding interactions between amino acids that are necessary for protein synthesis. This drug binds to the DNA gyrase enzyme, which is vital for bacterial replication and transcription.
