Product Information

Name:
2-(Cyclopropylamino)nicotinonitrile
Description:

Nevirapine is an antiviral drug that belongs to the class of non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors and is used for the treatment of HIV. Nevirapine inhibits the activity of reverse transcriptase by binding to it, preventing the conversion of RNA into DNA. This drug also has a hydrolyzing effect on nevirapine, which in turn inhibits the production of carboxylic acid. 2-(Cyclopropylamino)nicotinonitrile is a reactive intermediate that can be chlorinated or fluorinated as part of its synthesis. It can also be converted into an amide by cyclization with carbonyl chloride, which leads to formation of a carboxylic acid.
