- NSC 1235
- 9-CHLORO-1,2,3,4-TETRAHYDROACRIDINE
9-Chloro-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroacridine is a sulfa drug that inhibits the growth of cancer cells. It has been shown to inhibit the activity of acetylcholinesterase in human serum and mitochondria membrane potential. 9-Chloro-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroacridine has been shown to have potent inhibition against hl-60 cells and other cancer cell lines. The biochemical mechanism of action is unknown but it is thought to be due to its nucleophilic properties. The use of 9-chloro-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroacridine as a diagnostic agent for cancer is being studied.
