Description:
5-(4-Chlorophenyl)isoxazole-3-carbohydrazide is a cytotoxic compound that belongs to the group of pyrazoles. This compound has antiviral activity against herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1) and thiosemicarbazide. It is used in the synthesis of other compounds and yields an intramolecular reaction with phenacyl chloride, chloroacetic acid, and hydrazine. 5-(4-Chlorophenyl)isoxazole-3-carbohydrazide also binds to the enzyme chloroacetate reductase and is oxidized by peroxidases.
