Description:
4-Chloro-2-isothiocyanato-1-methoxybenzene is a marine sponge metabolite that belongs to the group of imidazolones. It has been shown to act as a corrector of the molecule and have a hydrophilic residue. The structure activity relationship (SAR) study revealed that this compound can be used for treating oxazoles and β2-adrenoceptor agonist, which are involved in cancer. 4-Chloro-2-isothiocyanato-1-methoxybenzene is an inhibitor of bacterial growth and has been shown to be effective against methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). This compound is also active against Mycobacterium tuberculosis, which causes tuberculosis, but not Mycobacterium avium complex.
