Description:

5-(Chloromethyl)-4-methyl-1H-imidazole hydrochloride (CMIMI) is a synthetic agent that inhibits the formation of polymers. CMIMI is also used to produce polyurethane polymers with thiourea, toxic metals, alkali metal, and transition metal ions. These polymers are used as a matrix in drug delivery systems. CMIMI has been shown to inhibit platelet aggregation and histamine H2 receptor activity. It also prevents coagulation by inhibiting the conversion of prothrombin to thrombin.
