Description:
2-Chloro-N-(4-hydroxyphenyl)acetamide is an analog of 2-chloroacetamide that has been sulfamoylated with 4-hydroxybenzeneethanesulfonic acid. It is a prodrug that is metabolized in vivo to the active form, 2-chloro-N-(4-hydroxyphenyl)acetamide (HPCAA). This drug has shown to have inhibitory effects on the activity of azetidine hydrolase, carbonic anhydrase, and inflammatory cytokines. The hydroxyl group of HPCAA may be involved in its inhibitory activities.
