Product Information

Name:
Cinnolin-4-ol
Synonyms:
  • 4-cinnolinol
  • Nsc 81669
Description:

Cinnolin-4-ol is a quinoline derivative that inhibits the DNA synthesis of herpes simplex virus. It has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties and has been used in the treatment of autoimmune diseases. Cinnolin-4-ol inhibits the nucleophilic attack of diazonium salt, which is a chemical reaction involving an aromatic amine and nitrous acid with a diazonium salt as the oxidizing agent. The chemical stability of cinnolin-4-ol is shown by its reaction solution with fluorine gas that did not produce any significant change in the nmr spectroscopic data. The nmr spectra also showed that cinnolin-4-ol reacted with water to form hydrogen fluoride and methanol without decomposition.
