Description

2-Chloro-N-isopropylacetamide (2CPA) is a fungicide that belongs to the group of triazines. It inhibits microbial growth by inhibiting the activity of amine oxidases, which are enzymes required for the metabolism of amines and amides. The fungicidal activity of 2CPA is due to its ability to inhibit the cytochrome P450 enzyme system, which is required for the synthesis of ergosterol in fungal cells. 2CPA has been shown to have a high inhibitory potency against isolates from cereal crops and wheat, with an EC50 value of 0.02 mg/L.
