Description

4-(4-Chlorobenzyl)-2-(1-methylazepan-4-yl)phthalazin-1(2H)-one hydrochloride is an antihistamine used to treat allergic rhinitis. It has been shown to inhibit the production of human polymorphonuclear leukocytes in response to intranasal allergen challenge and may have a therapeutic effect on allergic rhinitis symptoms. The drug is also effective against histamine release from mast cells, which is responsible for many of the signs and symptoms of allergic reactions. 4-(4-Chlorobenzyl)-2-(1-methylazepan-4-yl)phthalazin-1(2H)-one hydrochloride does not have any significant effects on potassium levels or heart rate when administered intravenously.
