1-Chloromethanesulfonamide is a biocide with a broad spectrum of activity. It is an organic solvent that can be used as a diphenyl ether, nucleophile and acid. The effective dose for 1-chloromethanesulfonamide is about 0.1 g/m3. This chemical has been shown to have anti-cancer properties in experimental models and has been studied for its potential to modulate the immune system. 1-Chloromethanesulfonamide has been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells by reacting with fatty acids in the cell membrane and inhibiting the production of proteins vital for cell division.
