Product Information
- Cyclopropylglyoxylic acidalpha-Oxocyclopropaneacetic acid
2-Cyclopropyl-2-oxoacetic acid is an organic solvent that can be used as a substitute for other solvents. It has been shown to inhibit skin cancer cells in the G1 phase of the cell cycle. 2-Cyclopropyl-2-oxoacetic acid is synthesized by reacting malonic acid with hydrogen chloride and triazine, which are both commercially available. This compound may be synthesized using asymmetric synthesis methods. Deuteration of 2-cyclopropyl-2-oxoacetic acid may also be used to produce its deuterated form, 2-(dideuteriomethyl)cyclobutane carbonic acid (DDBCA). DDBCA may be a useful tool for studying protein glycosylation. The synthesis of this compound can also be done by dehydrogenase or cryogenic methods.
